Yeast Infection Symptoms

Yeast infections are one of the most common problems plaguing women. At least 75% of women have at least one yeast infection in their lifetime. Unfortunately, if a woman has one, it is likely that she will have one again.

Yeast infections are easy to diagnose if you have had one before. A yeast infection frequently involves itching and redness of the vulva. There can also be pain and irritation during intercourse or urination. It is not unusual for there to be a cottage-cheese like discharge from the vagina, although sometimes there is little or no discharge at all. However, if you have never had a yeast infection before, you should see your doctor to be certain there is no other problem, especially if you are sexually active.
